“Don’t Call It In”

After premiering earlier this year at Sundance, news around Wounds died down. Until Hulu premiered a trailer for the thriller today, setting a US-release date – October 18.

The film, written and directed by Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow) based on the Nathan Balliingrud novella The Invisible Filth, follows a New Orleans bartender (Armie Hammer The Social Network) as his life begins to unravel after discovering a phone left behind at his bar that leads to a series of disturbing and inexplicable events. Co-starring is Dakota Johnson (Suspiria), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Karl Glusman (Nocturnal Animals) and Brad William Henke (Orange is the New Black).

Annapurna previously had the film set for a theatrical release earlier this year in March before the studio shelved its release in the midst of studio financial difficulties. Now Hulu seems to have picked up the rights for the US-market, while Netflix will release the film in the UK – also in October.
